GRAMMY nomination 2011

6 December 2010

Healthy Food For Thought: Good Enough To Eat! is the result of over a year of dedicated planning by many people, in aid of the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food (NYCHSF). Soul Asylum Poetry and Publishing Inc. has the role of Canadian Marketing. We have contributed the talents of Freddy Will for track 24: “Future” and a poem specially written for the CD by Ken Cowle, “It’s What I Need” is read by Senator Jim Gallagher (track 13). Other contributors to this project include Julian Lennon, Sara Hickman, Tom Chapin, Tim Gleeson, Kevin Mackie, Steve Pullara, Sweet Honey In The Rock, 5 for Ffighting, Trout Fishing in America and East Coast Recording Company. The 2 CD package has a release date of August 26th and the price is only $10.00. The recording quality is exceptional and the compositions all original. The project is in nominations for several awards in music and spoken word genres.

Follow up notes: This project was a success in its own right as the main objective was to bring attention to the need for children to have healthy meals and eating habits develop at an early age.

The inclusion on the short list of nominees for a GRAMMY was a bonus privilege for everyone involved.

The other two nominations in this category were an album by Julie Andrews and another by Emma Thompson. To be included in that level of professionalism was a great endorsement of the project’s artistic production.
