I started writing poetry at the age of 14 and I am still at it aged 59...so little chance I am going to grow out of it now.
Wild Fact...I was once an ordained man with the Church of England...but left in deaconate year to pursue Social Work.
I was resident in Park Place Lockerbie on the night of 21st December 1988 when Pam Am 103 blew up overhead...much of it landing in our street...how else than writing poetry can one put such matters over. I still correspond with some of the families involved.
I lost a close member of my family (Step-daughter) in the 2005 7th July London Bombings. Many poems later we are learning to cope.
Poetry has been my bedrock where all emotions can be codified and hence coped with...the same applies to music...but I can't write that.
Since retiring I used to run my own woodwork business and still make stuff (Sculptures and the like)
I live with nine cats and two dogs...all of whom own me totally.
We grow our own food.
We are also pacifists (but with a son in the Armed Forces) and are passionate about human rights.
David
